Sunday with Kate

Kate has come to visit!  The last time we saw Kate, we were just getting settled here in Connecticut and now, almost 2 years later, we have a little girl and Kate is in medical school and joining the Air Force this week.  Kate enjoyed our Stake Conference sitting with us and playing with Anna.  We explained (and Kate experienced) how awesome it is to be allowed to do silly things because you have a baby in your lap.

We mainly let Anna entertain us but we also enjoyed chats about med school, grad school, and life up North. Anna actually let Kate read to her, maybe I don’t make funny enough voices.
After Anna had a nap and we had lunch, we went for a walk to the park down the street and had fun on the swings, turtles, and slides. Jacob also took Anna on the zipline.  With my history of ziplines, which includes tumbling down a mountain which resulted in a broken flip flop and broken foot flesh, I’ll let him be in charge of those.  Anna was pretty chill about the whole deal.
This was Anna’s first time down a slide. Good thing Daddy was there to show her what to do.  She really loves playing outside.  Even though her father told her to cross her chest with her arms, waterslide style, Anna rebelled, flung them out and practically said “whee” while going down.  Well, I was across the playground it was either “whee” or “what the heck is going on!?!?”  Hard to tell from so far away.
And she also enjoyed her first time as spider baby. Kate and I saw the swem window resemblance of this playground toy, my baby is bound to be a nerd, spending her days at the library just like her mom and aunt Kate.  I hope she takes some study breaks to use those spidy-skills too though.
Kate also kindly documented our baby juggling skills.  I was so so scared when we first tried this, Jacob was too.  We barely didn’t let go of her until the other had a firm grasp.  But then one time one of us let go, then we started stepping back and now Anna is a high-flying acrobat! Tell me could Anna be more excited in this picture?
For dinner, the Hustedts came over, bringing yummy breadsticks! I was really happy to have such good friends together around our dinner table.
We are very blessed.  Thanks for visiting Kate!

  1. I love these pictures! They confirm my suspicion that Kate is going to be an awesome mom one day. 😛
