Once there was a Snowman

We’ve been singing “Once there was a snowman” often this winter, stretching tall and melting small.  Yet, Anna hasn’t actually made a snowman.  So when we woke up to snow this morning, we decided to go outside.  We dressed up in our snowpants and boots, and grabbed our shovel and gloves!  Anna worked on her snowball throwing skills.  To be fair, it was pretty difficult since her mittens didn’t have thumb-holes.  The two of us built one snowman while Daddy was shoveling.

Then I took a turn shoveling and Jacob out-did me by making a whole snow family: the Allwhites.  Anna liked to help us, she shoveled and rolled snow and even threw snowballs at me, imitating her father.  When it started to rain, we came back inside to warm up by the fire with some books.  Even without school to skip, snow days are pretty fun!

  1. adorable! It’s been 75degrees here in South Carolina this week so it’s nice to see that winter still exists. 🙂

    • Yeah, winter is fun when it snows. It isn’t so much fun when it is just 38 degrees and rainy, which is the norm recently. We were just in Charleston, on the beach even. I wish it had been 75 degrees then!

  2. No thumb holes in her mittens??? Oh poor deprived child! Better start knitting with the mitten pattern from Nanny! I know it has thumbs in it. Or are you afraid of her inherent throwing skill? Bahahaha………
