Outside Everybody Outside

Usually September brings on the end of summer. But we enjoyed that season the whole month through. It was warm enough for creek expeditions and park days. We explored and met new friends all month long! I loved September and I’m sorry to see it go. October flipped the switch to fall, high of 70, rainy, and leaves changing and falling everywhere. We’ll get used to jacket weather. But since I spent the first few months with Eliza avoiding big trips and the heat, I was grateful for the tender mercy that was September.

Troutville Park for Ice cream and fun with the grandparents.

Pandapas Pond with new friends. In Blacksburg is a cool pond complete with beaver dam and stroller-friendly trails. It was great for a walk and we saw our first lilypads.

Garst Mill creek play with new friends. Anna was very brave and explored all over, imagining and laughing with her friends. Isaac stayed on his rock, observing friends and shaking off falls and the chilly water like a creek pro.

Greenhill Park creek play. We just barely made it to the car before the rain started to fall. It was such an adventure enjoying the trail, finding treasures, chasing a squirrel, and tossing rocks.
