4th of July: {pretty, happy, funny, real}

~Capturing the context of contentment in everyday life ~

Our fourth of July road trip was the longest trip on record for us, a full 4 nights out of town…and with a baby in tow no less.  What a blast!

{Pretty}

Fireworks over the Hudson in Poughkeepsie, NY.  We might have missed the finale due to a necessary diaper change; Anna sure keeps it interesting.

{Happy}

My two favoritest people crashing after a day at the mall.  It was exhausting but nothing beats family time, wherever we are.

{Funny}

No uncharted road trip is complete without the stop at the random history museum.  This time it was the military museum in Derby, CT.  Jacob had fun posing Anna everywhere and I had fun capturing the play.  (PS is that the abominable snowman in the back??)

{Real}

On the first day back from vacation my wonderful stoneware cracked right in half while baking some chicken.  I went to pull out the sheet and only half came out.  I’m going to miss my jelly roll pan, le sigh.

  1. We recently lost a square baking pan and cookie sheet. The only two we had…easily replaced but a pain, so I feel you on losing the stoneware!

  2. Great photos. My husband likes to take crazed posed pcitures of babies too. Sadly (?) now that the boys are bigger they're not quite as game… or able to sit still 🙂

  3. Love the cozy naptime photo and the fireworks too!

  4. So sorry about the stoneware! The chicken still looks delicious, I am glad dinner was not ruined in the process!

  5. UGh, that happened to me only it was the first time I had used it. Cracked RIGHT in half. So sorry!
