Our son, Isaac, was born at 4:33 am on March 27th. He came in a hurry: labor only lasted 90 minutes. We were rushed and panic-y but I’ll take it every time over Anna’s drawn-out days-long drama show, ha.

He was born 7 lbs 8 oz and 20 inches long. He is beautiful and came to us looking like a little man. We love his receding hairline, his blue eyes, and his skinny limbs! I could fit my pointer finger and thumb around his little thighs when he was first born. At his two week appointment he weighed in at 9 lbs and 22 inches, which was exactly how Anna was born and his thighs have already chunked out, too big for me to wrap my finger and thumb around.

My days have been spent cuddling this little love bug and sometimes taking a break to cook food or read to Anna. She has been a great big sister, rocking him in his car seat, teaching him to wave, tickling his toes, and offering a finger in hopes that he will grab it. She adores him, wants to kiss him all the time, and best of all she really caught on to playing by herself. I’ve been stuck sitting with Isaac a lot and she is willing to bring games, books, and her imagination to me so we can still play. Or she will dress up, cook, or color by herself for a while, which is always a big help! On her way to visit the hospital, Anna asked Jacob if they could bring us a balloon that said “‘gratulaions.” Jacob tried to pick out an It’s a Boy balloon and a Congrats! balloon but neither were up to her requirements. It definitely cheered up our hospital room.
