Just One Birthday Girl

My twenty second birthday came and went without the arrival of our little one.  Sharing a birthday month is new to me but to share the day too was going to be too much 😉  I think Jacob would have enjoyed the joke so he took me out bowling for my birthday.  We found a wonderful little duckpin alley is West Haven.  The balls aren’t bigger than a shotput and the pins are like 1/3 the size of normal pins.  Jacob had never enjoyed this New England treasure and he knows how much I love games.

The place was empty save a small birthday party which meant they had the blacklights on!  It felt like I was having my own party with Jacob and Anna.  We played for an hour and that was pretty exhausting with constant getting up and sitting down.  We had so much fun, Jacob was really good at it.  We loved keeping our own score and playing at our own pace.  I think it would make a great double date night sometime.

We spent the evening watching a child of one of our favorite couples so they could have a date night.  Jacob had fun testing out his new lens on a moving object, even if it seemed impossible to get a non-blurry picture.  The little girl is just an angel and was very good at getting out of going to bed by giving out don’t-put-me-down-or-I-will-die grips hugs, so we just played all evening.  What a blast!  Jacob is so ready to be a daddy, I see it all the time now.  I’m just trying to enjoy these last few diaper-free moments of this stage of my life, plus unlike Jacob, I get to be with our little girl all day long and don’t feel the need to separate just to meet her.  But that day is coming soon, I can hardly believe it to be honest.  But duckpin bowling didn’t do the trick, sorry Jacob, you’ll just have to wait on her schedule.
